Tigress Ingeoservice was the proud sponsor of a successful
expedition this summer by Tyumen Oil and Gas University to the
7,000m Mount Khan-Tengry in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
The team set out in July on the
four-week journey to the Tyan-Shan mountains. Base camp was
set up at 4000 metres on the North Inylchek glacier. The team
then made several sorties into the mountains, including a
climb of Mt Khan-Tengry which is the second highest peak in
the Tyan-Shan mountains after Mount Pobeda.
Tyumen Oil and Gas University is one of several academic
organisations in Russia that use Tigress for their geological
studies. The university uses the software extensively. Tigress is
the central data store and interpretation system used for many
postgraduate student studies, and for a number of long-term
projects that are run in conjunction with Russian oil and gas
companies.
