Tigress has released version 5.0.1, the first update release for
the recent 5.0.0 version that was made available to clients in
February 2006.
Changes made to the data access routines, and to the way that
data is stored inside the database, have resulted in significant
performance improvements at the application level. In benchmark
tests comparing Tigress versions 4.6.5 and 5.0.1, we have seen
significant speed improvements in all key applications. Log data –
including templates and pictures – and zonations now load on
average twice as fast in 5.0.1 as in 4.6.5.
Users will see an even better performance improvement in map
data, with average improvements of three to four-fold in the speed
of data loading across the board. There is a similar
performance improvement when restoring and backing up Tigress
projects, with times reduced by half in many cases.
The tests were run on identical hardware platforms using
projects supplied by clients.
