This year’s annual CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)
Tigress user group meeting took place on 25-26 October 2006 in
Tyumen, 1800 km east of Moscow in the heart of the Russian oil
industry.
Day one
The first day of the event was hosted by the Siberian
Scientific-Analytical Centre (SibNATS), one of the largest
and longest-standing Tigress users in the Tyumen region. More than
30 attendees from different areas of the CIS were taught about the
features in the new Tigress 5.0.2 release, and took advantage of
the opportunity to discuss ongoing development plans and areas of
interest.
The end of the day was marked by a friendly dinner held in the
Tura hotel with remarkable views over the evening lights of Tyumen
city.
Day two
On the second day the seminar continued in the Khvoiny resort; a
tranquil and pretty place in a pine-tree forest 30 km from
Tyumen.
Future events
This was the eighth Russian User Group event. We will be holding
another Tigress user group next year and hope once again to host
part of the event at a Tigress client site.
