The Tigress Project Data Store (PDS) is an exploration and
production (E&P) logical data model. Tigress uses the PDS as
its software integration platform, and all input data and
interpreted results are stored in the PDS. The data model is
implemented in the Oracle relational database management system
(RDBMS). The combination of a well-designed model and the
industry's leading RDBMS ensures a high degree of availability,
integrity and security of data.
The Tigress PDS was one of the industry's first relational data
models and, through continued evolution, represents the most
comprehensive data model available today. The PDS includes many
thousands of attributes covering all domains from seismic
exploration through to production management.
About the PDS
The Tigress PDS is a project orientated data store providing
real-time data retrieval and storage for a number of concurrent
interpreters. Data versioning, access controls and audit trails
ensure the continued quality of data stored within a PDS.
On this page you can find out about:
Integration
The Tigress applications are fully integrated with the PDS
allowing interpretation using data from all disciplines to
accurately model the reservoir. Complete descriptions of the
Tigress applications are available elsewhere in this section of the
website.
As well as Tigress applications, the following third party
applications are fully integrated:
- Geotracker from VoluMetrix
- Cluster Analysis from Agip
- Sure simulation engine from HOT
- Chears simulation engine from Chevron
All applications that access the Tigress PDS share the same
data, ensuring continuity and minimising data redundancy. An API
developer's kit is available to let you connect third party
applications directly to the Tigress PDS, and we offer a GUI kit
for writing graphical front-ends sharing the same look and feel as
the Tigress applications.

Applications and documentation
The Tigress PDS is supplied with a complete suite of
graphically-based, easy-to-use applications for data loading and
unloading, database management and associated utilities.
A comprehensive set of online documentation accompanies the PDS.
This documentation covers all aspects of the product from entity
relationship diagrams for the data model through to user
documentation for the PDS tools. Navigation through the material is
simplified by the inclusion of extensive hypertext links.
