Duration
Two days.
Description
This course is intended for new and existing Tigress users who
are involved in geophysical interpretation. We first teach
trainees how to generate synthetic seismograms to tie the
geological interpretation to the seismic data. We then cover 2D and
3D horizon and fault interpretation, together with manipulation of
the final interpretations and subsequent display in 3D.
Applications
The following applications are covered in the course:
- Well Log Processing
- Geophysics Interpretation.
Prerequisites
Familiarity with using Unix/Linux workstations for seismic
interpretation is an advantage.
Format
Demonstrations, lectures and user exercises.
Objectives
On completion of the course, trainees will be able to:
- enter checkshot data and calibrate it against velocity
- calculate a synthetic seismogram
- display basemaps
- display geological data on the seismic section
- pick horizons and faults on single and overlapping surveys
- perform 2D mistie analysis
- create new colour ramps
- calculate horizon dip, azimuth and amplitude
- export seismic horizons and faults to mapping
- display horizons, faults and wells in 3D.
